Aspirations
Helping young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders find their AspirationsProgram Description
This program is designed to give young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) the opportunity to discuss their own vocational and social experiences in a small group setting and be guided in ways of how to improve their skills in these areas. Group leaders, familiar with ASD, facilitate an atmosphere of acceptance and friendship. Developing self-awareness, social insight, and independence are central themes of Aspirations. There is also a research component that includes pencil and paper measures that are completed by the group members before and after the Aspirations program. These allow us to evaluate the program but participation in this research is completely voluntary.
